Donta Thrower, 32, Killed in Northwest D.C. Shooting

A Friday night shooting in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street Northwest resulted in the death of 32-year-old Donta Thrower from Northwest D.C.

At approximately 9:24 p.m., police officers responding to a call for the report of a shooting found Thrower with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Metropolitan Police spokesman Hugh Carew said no arrests have been made in connection to this case, and that no further information is available at this time.

Homicide: 1200 Block of North Capitol Street, Northwest

(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, Northwest.

On Friday, May 30, 2014, at approximately 9:24 pm, officers from the First District and a DC Housing Officer responded to a call for the report of a shooting in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, Northwest. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 32 year-old Donta Thrower of Northwest DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
