Two victims of an early morning shooting have been identified as a sister and brother from Southeast D.C.
Jamie Jenkins, 28, and Jamahl Jenkins, 21, were found shot in the 5300 block of East Capitol Street Northeast around 4:30 Saturday morning. Jamahl was pronounced dead at the scene; Jamie later died at the hospital.

A double shooting in Northeast DC left one man dead early Saturday morning, WJLA and NBC Washington report.
According to reports, a man and woman were found shot in the 5000 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast at about 4:30 a.m. The woman was taken to a hospital; the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was the second of two fatal shootings overnight. Earlier, a man was shot and killed in Northwest D.C.
Update: Jamie Jenkins, who was taken to the hospital after this shooting, has died. The man killed at the scene was her brother, Jamahl Jenkins.

It was the first of two fatal shootings overnight. At about 4:30 a.m. a man was shot and killed in the 5300 block of East Capitol Street Northeast.

Judge Ronna Beck found substantial probability Friday that Kevin Brown participated in the shooting death of 19-year-old James Edward Dean.
Dean died February 10 after being found shot in front of an apartment complex on the 3100 block of Buena Vista Terrace Southeast, according to police.

Charles Hicks, father of two and stepfather of two, was stabbed and killed on June 19, 2011. It was Father’s Day. On Friday, Eric Jerome Payne, who pleaded guilty in connection with the murder, said that he never meant to cause Hicks any harm.
“The altercation just happened so fast,” Payne said. “From start to finish, it was just wrong. I don’t want anyone to believe this was in retaliation for anything. My intentions were not to cause pain to another human being. That’s not in my character. I’d like to send my deepest apologies to [the Hicks family], and I ask for forgiveness.”

Two men who were shot and killed in Southeast D.C. Wednesday evening have been identified as Anthony Chase and Eric Leeper.
Both men were found shot on Ridge Road SE around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. Chase, 19, died on the scene. Leeper, 27, later died at the hospital.
Police say a third shooting victim is expected to recover from his injuries.

A shooting in Southeast DC shortly before midnight Tuesday killed two people and injured another, according to media reports.
According to a DC Alert, a lookout was issued for a “black male wearing blue jean shorts, a black t-shirt, with a black t-shirt tied around his head.”

Metropolitan Police officers were in the area when a gunman fired at least a dozen shots in the 300 block of Ridge Road, striking three men around 11:39 p.m. The officers heard the shots and responded to the scene quickly, where they found one of the victims lying dead in the street. The two other victims were transported to a local hospital, one with a gun shot wound to the upper body who later died. Read more
The D.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled the death of 21-year-old Rayshawn Hailstock a homicide.
Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy Lanier said in an email Wednesday that detectives are still “investigating the circumstances of the case and will present the facts to the [United States Attorney’s Office].”

A judge found probable cause to believe Wednesday that Don Demichie Page Jr. participated in the shooting death of 28-year-old Quentin Lavar White. Page remains held pending a preliminary hearing scheduled July 19.
He is suspected of first-degree murder.
