Joseph McCrae was sentenced today to 18 years in prison for the 2010 shooting death of Jonathan Estep.

Arrest Made in 2007 Shooting Death of Kirk Hart

A 25 year old Southeast DC man was arrested today in connection with a fatal 2007 shooting, MPD said Thursday evening.

In a press release, MPD said the man, identified as William J. Douglas, is suspected of first-degree murder while armed in the shooting death of Kirk Hart.

NW DC Shooting Kills 40-Year-Old Simon Anderson

A shooting in Northwest DC early Sunday morning killed a 40-year-old man identified by police as Simon Anderson.

Two Killed Saturday in Separate Shootings

Terrence Robinson, 48, was shot to death on Saturday in the 2600 block of Douglas Road, S.E., according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Police were called to the block about 5:19 a.m. on a report of the shooting, according to an MPD news release. When they arrived they found Robinson, of Southeast Washington D.C., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where he died.

Robinson was the second man to die Saturday. Twenty-four-year-old Antwan Boseman, of Southeast Washington D.C., was shot to death early Saturday on the 800 block of Barnaby Street SE about three hours earlier, according to police.

Police asked anyone with information to call police at (202) 727-9099.

Week in Review

In brief:

Twenty two-year-old Jerry Williams was fatally shot in Northeast DC Monday night.

Antwan Boseman, 24, of Southeast DC was killed in a double shooting early Saturday.

Police asked for the public’s help in apprehending 20-year-old Lamont Hill, who is wanted for murder in the death of Brian Dewayne Bloomfield. Bloomfield was found shot and stabbed in a parking lot in the 3400 block of 13th Place Southeast the evening of June 11.

They also asked for public’s help in identifying a man who is a person of interest in the death of Darryl Eugene Sweet, Sr. Sweet, 61, was found unconscious and unresponsive on July 26 suffering from “an internal head wound,” according to police reports.

Lester Wright was sentenced to 12 years in prison Friday for the shooting death of Howard Williams.

Michael Poth pleaded innocent to one count of second-degree murder while armed Friday for the killing of fellow Marine Phillip Bushong in April.

Gerald Anderson, 22, was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the 2007 murder of David Mayo.

A jury convicted Chamontae Walker of first-degree murder for the death of Darrel Hendy today and found his co-defendant, Corey Yates, guilty of second degree murder.

Two Shot, One Dead on Southeast Side

Antwan Boseman, 24, of Southeast Washington D.C., was shot to death early Saturday, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Police responded to the 800 block of Barnaby Street SE around 2:13 am, according to an MPD news release. Officers found two men on the ground with, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Both men were taken to a local hospital, where Boseman died. The other man was admitted for treatment.

The police are asking anyone with information about the shootings to call (202) 727-9099.

Guilty Verdicts in Death of Darrel Hendy

A jury convicted Chamontae Walker of first-degree murder for the death of Darrel Hendy today and found his co-defendant, Corey Yates, guilty of second degree murder.

Michael Poth Pleads Innocent to Second-Degree Murder in Stabbing Death of Marine

Michael Poth pleaded innocent to one count of second-degree murder while armed Friday for the killing of fellow Marine Phillip Bushong in April.

Prosecutors have offered Poth a plea agreement that will remain open until his next status hearing on Sept. 7. The terms of the agreement were not immediately available.
