This was in Metro PD’s First District arrest logs today. The address where Legrand was reportedly arrested is the same address as Metro PD. There is nothing obvious in the Superior Court dockets that gives any more clues, but VINElink shows a 27-year-old William Legrand currently in custody.

Metro Police have identified the teen found dead in Southwest D.C. yesterday as 17 year-old Scott Staten of Southeast, Washington , DC.
The press release states:
HOMICIDE: 1300 Block of Half Street, SW
( Washington , DC )-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 1300 block of Half Street, SW.
On December 8, 2010, at approximately 8:30 am units from the First District responded to the 1300 block of Half Street, SW to investigate the call for a man down. Upon their arrival, they discovered a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and did not find any signs of life. The victim was subsequently pronounced dead on the scene.
The victim has been identified as 17 year-old Scott Staten of Southeast, Washington , DC .

A woman stabbed to death in her Southwest D.C. apartment has been
identified as 41-year-old Tawana Barnes-Copeland. While identified in media reports as Tawanna Barnes-Copeland, her Facebook profile uses the names Tawana Copeland.
ABC 7 News reports Copeland was an employee of Georgetown University Hospital and mother of three daughters.
Copeland’s Facebook page indicates that she was a 1987 graduate of Ballou High School.
Metro Police are investigating two homicides in Southwest D.C.
One victim is believed to be a teenage boy who lived in a nearby group home. The other victim is believed to be a woman.

The Washington Post and TBD report that Metro Police are investigating a homicide in the1300 block of Half St. SW near Nationals Park.
They report officers responded to the address at about 8:20 a.m. Wednesday.
No other details are immediately available.
It is the second report of a homicide in Southwest D.C. in the past twelve hours.
Metro Police are investigating a homicide in the unit block of Galveston Place, SW, The Washington Post reports.
WUSA9 reports that the woman died in a stabbing attack and that police do not have information to release about what lead to the attack or who any suspects might be.
According to Examiner.com, the victim is a woman found dead in an apartment, possibly with a cut on her neck.
The homicide occurred around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday night, the Post reports.

Metro Police have launched a new Unsolved Cases/ Homicides poster viewer on their website, including some new posters in recent cases. Among them, the deaths of Angel Morse (top) and Jacobo Vazquez.
According to police, Morse is believed to have been killed by her father, Robert Carter, who is next due in court March 4 for a felony status conference.
In Vazquez’ death, a former co-worker has been charged with first-degree murder. That man, Marvin Palencia, is due in court Friday for a preliminary hearing.
