Gregory Allen Green | Homicide Watch DC news about Gregory Allen Greenen-usFri, 19 Dec 2014 11:07:20 -0500Gregory Green Indicted in Derrick Williams' Murder<p><a href="">Gregory Allen Green</a>, 26, pleaded innocent Friday to first-degree murder while armed, armed robbery and three weapons charges for the March shooting death of 35-year-old <a href="">Derrick Eugene Williams</a>. </p> <p>On March 29, police <a href="">found</a> Williams lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the head in the 1200 block of Eaton Road Southeast.<br /> <span id="more-26600"></span></p> <p>Williams was transferred to Washington MedStar Hospital, but lifesaving efforts failed and Williams was pronounced dead shortly after 1:00 a.m. </p> <p>Charging documents state that a <a href="">witness told police</a> it saw two suspects standing over Hemphill's body. The first suspect was pulling Williams' legs while the second suspect appeared to be taking money out of the Williams' pockets. </p> <p>The witness identified the second suspect as "Face," who it has known for more than 10 years.</p> <p>When police showed the witness a photograph of Green, the witness said, "Yea that's him, that's exactly who it is," according to the documents. </p> <p>Green is scheduled to appear before Judge John Johnson for a status hearing on February 6 at 10:30 a.m.</p> <p><em>A copy of Green's indictment is below:</em></p> <script src=''></script> <script> DV.load('', { width: 500, height: 600, sidebar: false, text: true, pdf: true, container: '#DV-viewer-1383795-case-2014-cf1-005741-docket-12-16-2014-indcrm' }); </script> Amelia RuferFri, 19 Dec 2014 11:07:20 -0500 Eugene WilliamsGregory Allen GreenProbable Cause Found Against Gregory Green in the Shooting Death of Derrick Williams<p>Judge John Ramsey Johnson ruled Tuesday that there is probable cause to continue holding <a href="">Gregory Allen Green</a>, 25, in connection with the shooting death of <a href="">Derrick Eugene Williams</a>. </p> <p><a href="">Williams, 35, was found lying on the sidewalk shortly after midnight on March 29</a> in the 1200 block of Eaton Place Southeast with a gunshot wound to his head. Four days later, <a href="">Green was held</a> without bond on suspicion of first-degree murder while armed, felony murder, and attempted robbery. </p> <p>Johnson cited the seriousness of the charges and Green’s prior convictions as reasons for holding Green. Assistant U.S. Attorney Adrienne Dedjinou said Tuesday that Green was on supervised release for a drug charge and a robbery charge when Williams was killed.<br /> <span id="more-22419"></span></p> <p>Metropolitan Police Detective Ray Shields testified Tuesday that a witness told police that they heard two or three gunshots, a pause, one more gunshot, and then moments later saw Green and another man standing over Williams. </p> <p>The witness has known Green as “Face” or “Little Greg” for more ten years and saw Green's face as he rummaged through Williams’ pockets for what appeared to be money, according to Shields.</p> <p>The second man told Green, “Let’s go,” but Green responded, “F*ck that,” and continued looking in Williams’ pockets, the witness told Shields. </p> <p>The men then fled the scene and Green held his waistband as if carrying a firearm, the witness told Shields. </p> <p>Defense attorney Katerina Semyonova argued that the case relies only one witness’s identification of Green, and that the witness never saw the shooting.</p> <p>Semyonova added that no weapons have been found in connection with the case.</p> <p>“It’s certainly not beyond a reasonable doubt yet, but I find probable cause at this point,” said Judge Johnson.</p> <p>A felony status hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on September 5.</p> Dana JenningsTue, 22 Apr 2014 15:54:16 -0400 Eugene WilliamsGregory Allen GreenGregory Green Held in Connection with Death of Derrick Williams<p><a href="">Gregory Allen Green</a>, 25, was held without bond Thursday on charges of first-degree murder while armed, felony murder and attempted robbery in connection to the shooting death of <a href="">Derrick Eugene Williams</a> this past weekend. </p> <p>Williams, 35, was <a href="">found last Saturday</a> at approximately 12:23 a.m. lying on the sidewalk of the 1200 block of Eaton Place Southeast, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. <a href="">Green was arrested</a> four days later.</p> <p>Charging documents say a witness, who has known Green for over ten years as "Face," said that Green was one of two people standing over Williams moments after three gunshots were heard. According to the documents, the witness saw Green pulling the victim's legs and going through the victim's pockets.<br /> <span id="more-22130"></span><br /> The witness told police it observed Green taking what appeared to be money and putting it in his pocket before fleeing the scene. Documents say the witness remembers "Face" running and holding his waist band as if he was carrying a weapon.</p> <p>Representing Green, attorney Judith Pipe asked the court to release him, noting that "the entire Gerstein relies on one witness."</p> <p>Judge Karen Howze ruled he will be held based on prior convictions. The man, identified by police as <a href="">Gregory Allen Green</a>, is suspected of first-degree murder while armed.</p> <p>Williams was <a href="">found on March 29</a> with an apparent gunshot wound in the 1200 block of Eaton Road Southeast. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
