Man Suspected in July Homicide Indicted in MS-13 Case

A man MPD said they arrested in connection with a May homicide has been indicted on federal racketeering and murder charges.

Henry Diaz-Antunuez was one of six men added to the case last week, which, according to a press release from the US Attorney's Office, alleges that

MS-13 engages in racketeering activity to include murder, narcotics distribution, extortion, robberies, obstruction of justice, and other crimes. The indictment specifically states that some of the defendants allegedly participated in assaults against persons they believed to be rival gang members, made threats against persons they believed to be cooperating with law enforcement, and carried out extortions.

Diaz-Antunuez was indicted in the case in connection with the Nov. 2008 stabbing death of 27-year-old Louis Alberto Membreno-Zelaya, 27. An alleged MS-13 member is charged with having ordered the killing.

Diaz-Antunuez is expected this week in DC Superior Court, Bill Miller, a US Attorney's Office spokesman, said.

Diaz-Antunuez was arrested last week on suspicion of second degree murder while armed in connection with the shooting death of David Eduardo Gonzalez on July 19, but he was never prevented with the charge, according to court records.

Miller said he couldn't comment "at this point on potential charges involving the Gonzalez case."

Henry Diaz-Antunuez, 19, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of second degree murder while armed in connection with the shooting death of David Eduardo Gonzalez on July 19.

Both men were from northwest DC; the shooting occurred in the 900 block of Randolph Street NW.

Arrest Made in the Homicide in the 900 Block of Randolph Street, NW

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting which occurred in the 900 block of Randolph Street, NW.

On Tuesday July 19, 2011, at approximately 3:08 am, units from the Fourth District responded to the 900 block of Randolph Street, NW to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they observed a male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and determined that the victim had no signs consistent with life. The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 23 year-old David Eduardo Gonzalez of Northwest, DC.

On Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at approximately 12:00 pm, members from the Homicide Branch arrested 19 year-old Henry Diaz-Antunuez of Northwest, Washington, DC, charging him with Murder Two while Armed.
