The vehicle was seen leaving the scene with two people in the car and entering the nearby Anacostia Freeway.</p> <p>A statement from MPD is below the jump: <span id="more-10812"></span></p> <blockquote><p>October 26, 2012</p> <p>Homicide: 36th Street and Benning Road, NE</p> <p>(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred on 36th Street and Benning Road, NE.</p> <p>On Thursday, October 25, 2012, at approximately 12:39 pm, units from the Sixth District responded to 36th Streetand Benning Road, NE, for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived and determined that the victim had no signs consistent with life. The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where he was pronounced dead.</p> <p>The decedent is identified as 31 year-old Anthony Antonio Watts of Northeast, Washington, DC.</p> <p>The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.</p> <p>Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Reports say another man got out of a car and shot him, then drove off.</p> <p>The <a href="" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','']);">Washington Times</a> reports police are looking for a "black four-door Toyota Camry with Pennsylvania license plates." <span id="more-10801"></span></p> <blockquote><p> The shooter is described as a young black man in a black jacket and white shirt who got out of the Toyota and shot the man, then got back into the car with another person and drove away.
