Shootinghttp://homicidewatch.org/2014/09/27/anthony-cornell-jones-killed-in-se-d-c-shooting/<p><iframe src="http://homicidewatch.org/api/v1/homicides/415.html" width="100%" height="350" frameborder=0></iframe><br /> A shooting in the 2300 Block of Ainger Place killed 39-year-old <a href="http://homicidewatch.org/victims/anthony-cornell-jones/">Anthony Cornell Jones</a> after midnight on Saturday morning, according to MPD.</p> <p>Jones was found in the 2300 block of Ainger Place Southeast after an officer was struck by gunfire on their way to answer another call. The officer was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and other responding officers found Jones.</p> <p>Jones was then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Another man was found shot in the 2300 block of Ainger Place Southeast, and treated at a local hospital, according to police.</p> <p>A press release from MPD is after the jump.<br /> <span id="more-25139"></span></p> <blockquote><p><strong>Homicide: 2300 Block of Ainger Place, Southeast</strong></p> <p>(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 2300 block of Ainger Place, SE.</p> <p>On Saturday, September 27, 2014 at approximately 12:27 am, while responding to a call for disorderly subjects in the 2700 block of Bruce Place, SE, a Seventh District patrol officer was struck by gunfire in the 2300 block of Ainger Place, SE. The officer was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.</p> <p>Other responding officers located the victim, 39-year-old Anthony Cornell Jones of Southeast, DC, who was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced dead.</p> <p>Further investigation revealed that another adult male had been shot in the 2300 block of Ainger Place, SE. He was treated at a local hospital.</p> <p>The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
