Shooting<p><iframe src="" width="100%" height="350" frameborder=0></iframe></p> <p>A shooting in the unit block of 46th Place Northeast has killed 25-year-old <a href="">Dexter Motley</a>, MPD announced Thursday.</p> <p>Police officers found Motley and another man shot at approximately 9:32 p.m. while investigating the sound of gunshots. Emergency medical services transported Motley to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The second man was listed in stable condition, according to the release.</p> <p>The full press release from MPD is after the jump.<br /> <span id="more-24360"></span></p> <blockquote><p>Assault with Intent to Kill Now a Homicide:<br /> Unit Block of 46th Place, Northeast</p> <p>(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced the assault with intent to kill, which occurred in the Unit block of 46th Place, Northeast, is now a homicide.</p> <p>On Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at approximately 9:32 pm, shot spotter detected multiple gunshots on the 4600 block of East Capitol St., SE. Moments later, members from the Sixth District responded to a call for a shooting at 46th Place and Central Avenue, NE. Upon arrival, they discovered two adult males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Victim # 1 was located in the unit block of 46th Place, NE, and victim # 2 was located in the unit block of 46th Street, NE. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported victim # 1 to a local hospital where he was admitted in critical condition but subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Victim # 2 was also transported to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.</p> <p>The decedent has been identified as 25 year-old Dexter Motley of Southeast, Washington, DC.</p> <p>The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
