Shooting Victim ID’ed as 21-year-old Dominic Dixon

The victim of a fatal shooting in Northwest DC Sunday evening has been identified as 21-year-old Dominic Dixon.

MPD reports that officers were called to the 200 block of N Street NW for a report of a shooting. Dixon was found there shot. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, MPD said.

A second shooting victim was found near 4th and M Streets Northwest. That person was taken to the hospital for treatment, MPD said.

DOUBLE SHOOTING IN THE 200 BLOCK OF N ST NW, RESULTS IN ONE HOMICIDE

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Departments Homicide Branch are currently investigating a double shooting which occurred in the 200 block of N Street, NW, which has left one man dead.

On Sunday, August 28, 2011, at approximately 7:38 p.m. units from the First District responded to the 200 block of N Street, NW for the report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

The second adult victim was located in the area of 4th and M Streets N.W. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The decedent in this case has been identified as 21-year-old Dominic Dixon of Northwest D.C.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
