James Sandidge Arrested in Shooting Death of Keenan Lee

A Temple Hills, Md. man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Keenan Jerel Lee, MPD says.

Lee was killed on Oct. 22 near Howard University. James Deangelo Sandidge, 22, was arrested on suspicion of murder two while armed in connection with the case.

Arrest Made in the Homicide in the 2200 block of Georgia Avenue, NW

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting of Keenan Jerel Lee.

On Saturday, October 22, 2011 at approximately 10:07 pm, units from the Third District responded to Georgia Avenue and V Street, NW to investigate the sounds of gunshots. Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim had been taken to a local hospital suffering from gunshot wounds where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was standing in the 2200 block of Georgia Avenue at the time of the shooting.

The decedent has been identified as 20 year-old Keenan Jerel Lee of Capitol Heights, MD.

On Monday, October 31, 2011 at approximately 9:00 am, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested and charged 22-year-old James Deangelo Sandidge of Temple Hills, MD, with Murder Two While Armed pursuant to an arrest warrant.
