A man fatally shot in Southeast DC Thursday night has been identified as 21-year-old Ronald Bryant. Friends of Bryant have left messages on Homicide Watch DC, Facebook and Twitter identifying him as the man killed in a shooting in Southeast DC Thursday night. Homicide in the
5000 block of Benning Road, S.E.

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 5000 block of H Street, Southeast.

On Thursday, March 1, 2012, at approximately 10:15 pm, units from the Sixth District responded to the 5000 block of H Street, Southeast, for the report of a shooting victim. Upon their arrival, they located the victim, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where the victim later succumbed to his injuries.

The decedent has been identified as 21 year-old Ronald James Bryant of Southeast, Washington, DC.

Further investigation revealed that the shooting occurred in the 5000 block of Benning Road, Southeast and the victim ran to the 5000 block of H Street, Southeast. There was a second subject injured during the shooting but was not shot.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
