Friday Night Stabbing Victim ID’ed as John Wesley Griffin

A man who died after being found stabbed in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street NW late Friday night has been identified by MPD as 42-year-old John Wesley Griffin of Southeast, Washington, DC.

Homicide: 1200 Block of North Capitol Street, NW

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the homicide which occurred in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, NW.

On Friday, May 18, 2012 at approximately 9:30 pm, units from the First District responded to the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, NW for the report of a stabbing. Upon their arrival, they located an adult male suffering multiple stab wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he subsequently succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 42 year-old John Wesley Griffin of Southeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
