Skeletal Remains Found in SE DC in Sept. 2011 Identified as Homicide Victim Lawrence Neal Jr.

Skeletal remains found in Sept. 2011 in Southeast DC have been determined to be those of 39-year-old Lawrence Neal Jr. and police say he was the victim of a homicide.

A statement from MPD Tuesday morning said the remains were found in the rear of 2800 block of Buena Vista Terrace, Southeast at about 6:45 p.m. on Sept. 25, 2011. Police do not know how Neal was killed and the statement does not indicate when, or where, they think he may have been killed.

Death Investigation Ruled Homicide: 2800 Block of Buena Vista Terrace, SE

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the homicide of an individual who was found in the 2800 block of Buena Vista Terrace, SE.

On Sunday, September 25, 2011, at approximately 6:45 pm, units from the Seventh District responded to the 2800 block of Buena Vista Terrace, SE, to investigate the trouble. Upon their arrival, they discovered skeletal remains in the rear of that location. Detectives from the Homicide Branch and technicians from the Forensic Science Division responded to the scene, along with members from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, who pronounced the victim dead.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled the manner of death homicide and the cause of death is undetermined.

The decedent has been identified as 39 year-old Lawrence Neal Jr. of Southeast, Washington, DC.
