William Douglas Ordered Held for Murder of Kirk Hart

William Douglas was ordered held Friday pending a preliminary hearing after Judge Karen Howze ruled that there was probable cause that he was responsible for the shooting death of Kirk Hart.

Douglas was arrested after DNA found in a black face mask and dreadlocks found at the scene of the crime was matched to him.

On June 19, 2007, Hart was found at 2701 Robinson Place Southeast, laying on his back, suffering frun a single gunshot wound, according to charging documents.

According to charging documents, Douglas appeared shaken when police asked him about the shooting. He denied having been at the apartment and having dreadlocks at that time.

A witness who is currently incarcerated identified a photograph of Douglas and said that Douglas had shot Kirk while attempting robbery.

Douglas is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 22.
