MPD Continues to Search for Suspect in Sunday Metro Bus Shooting

Update: MPD identified the victim as Selina Brown.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect in last night’s fatal shooting aboard a B2 Metro bus, WTOP reports.

The shooting, which took place around 6 p.m., killed a woman in her 20s and injured her young child. MPD has not yet released the woman’s name.

NBC Washington reported that police are describing the homicide as a targeted act of domestic violence.

CBS DC reports that the driver of the bus drove away after the shooting in an effort to flee the gunfire, but officers stopped the bus a block from the attack.

WTOP reports that police have identified a suspect in the case and are continuing to look for the suspect Monday morning. Officers searched the suspect’s home and issued an arrest warrant, the station says.
