Week Ahead

Each week, Homicide Watch brings you a list of upcoming hearings in the cases we follow. All hearings are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. unless otherwise noted. To add an item to the listing, email homicidewatchdc [at] gmail.com. To see scheduled court hearings beyond next week, see our calendar.

On Monday, Deonte Bryant and Terrance Bush are expected to stand trial on charges including first-degree murder and assault with intent to kill in connection with the fatal 2011 shooting near Columbia Height’s Caribbean Festival. The trial is scheduled to take place before Judge John Ramsey Johnson.

Khari Williams is expected before Judge Lynn Leibovitz for a status hearing. Williams is suspected of first-degree murder in connection with the Dec. 30, 2012, death of Angelo Alphonso Payne.

Tuesday, Michael Davis is expected for a mental health observation hearing with Judge Robert Morin. Davis is suspected in the fatal attack on Denver tourist Gary Dederichs. The hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m.

Thursday, Joshua Mebane and Linda Bury are expected for a status hearing with Judge Herbert Dixon. The two are suspected of felony murder in connection with the shooting death of cab driver Quadar Muhammad.

Arvel Wills is expected for a trial readiness hearing with Judge Ronna Beck. Wills is charged in the May 26 murder of his cousin, Dewayne Wills.

On Friday, Judge William Jackson is expecting Cinthya Proctor and Laurence Hassan for sentencing in connection with the death of Latisha Frazier. Proctor and Hassan each pleaded guilty in the case. Hassan is scheduled for sentencing at 9:30 a.m. and Proctor is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Lanee Bell, who is charged with kidnapping in connection with Frazier’s death, is expected for a status hearing with Judge Jackson at 2 p.m.

Judge Robert Morin is expecting Brandon Andrews for sentencing Friday. Andrews was found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of Leonard Bigelow.

Joseph Peoples is expected for a status hearing with Judge Morin at 10 a.m. Peoples is suspected of first-degree murder in the death of Michael Edward Jones.

Ronald Page is expected for a trial readiness hearing with Judge Morin at 10:30 a.m. Page is suspected of first-degree murder in the death of Nicholas Ray Satcher.

Judge Herbert Dixon is expecting Ellsworth Colbert for sentencing. Colbert was found guilty in the death of Robert Leroy Wright.

Rashid Caviness-Bey is expected for a motions hearing with Judge Dixon. Caviness-Bey is charged in the Aug. 17, 2011 death of Osman Al-Akbar. A trial is scheduled to begin May 20.

Alex Cater is expected for a status hearing with Judge Dixon. Cater is suspected in the Dec. 31, 2011 death of Leroy Studevant.

Judge Ronna Beck is expecting Felicia Jones for sentencing at 10:30 a.m. After a hung jury, Jones pleaded guilty to unarmed voluntary manslaughter in connection with the death of Jodie Ward.

Michael Marshall is expected for a status hearing with Judge Beck. Marshall is suspected in the Oct. 17, 2011, death of Antonio Mervin Headspeth.

Stephanie Lawson is expected for a status hearing with Judge Beck at 10:30 a.m. Lawson is suspected in the Aug. 27, 2011, death of Karen Jordan.

Judge Johnson is expecting Donzell Butler for a status hearing. Butler is suspected in the July 7, 2012, death of Charles Anthony Scott Jr.
