Police, Medical Examiner Investigating Death of Woman in Southeast DC

The death of a woman found unconscious and unresponsive in Southeast DC Wednesday morning is under investigation.

The case has not been ruled a homicide; such a determination will be made by the medical examiner pending an autopsy.

The woman, 31-year-old Kisha Lashawn McCall, was found in the 2200 block of Retta Gilliam Court, SE at about 10:30 Wednesday morning. According to news reports, the home she was found in was owned by a security guard who committed suicide at the Government Services Administration in downtown DC earlier this week.

Undetermined Death Investigation: 2200 Block of Retta Gilliam Court, SE

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a death which occurred in the 2200 block of Retta Gilliam Court, SE.

On Wednesday, July31, 2013, at approximately 10:39 am units from the Seventh District responded for the report of an unconscious person at the 2200 block of Retta Gilliam Court, SE. Upon arrival, they located an adult female unconscious and unresponsive. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and did not find any signs consistent with life. The decedent remained on the scene and was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia, pending an autopsy and the determination of a cause and manner of death.

The decedent has been identified as 31-year-old Kisha Lashawn McCall of Southeast, DC.
