Week Ahead

Each week, Homicide Watch brings you a list of upcoming hearings in the cases we follow. All hearings are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. unless otherwise noted. To add an item to the listing, email homicidewatch [at] gmail.com. To see scheduled court hearings beyond next week, see our calendar.

On Monday, Judge Herbert Dixon is expecting James Brewer and Stephen Page for separate status hearings. Brewer and Page are charged with first-degree murder in connection with the June 27, 2011 shooting death of 71-year-old Solomon Reese.

Wednesday, Deangelo Williams is expected for a status hearing with Judge Dixon. Williams is suspected of first-degree murder in the Feb. 19, 2011 death of Lucki Parnell.

Michael Smith is expected for a status hearing with Judge Lynn Leibovitz. Smith is charged with first-degree murder while armed in connection with the March 21 shooting death of 24-year-old Paul Danzo.

Thursday, Judge Ronna Beck is expecting Rico Carr and Robert Crowder for preliminary hearings. Both Carr and Crowder are suspected of participating in the Nov. 22, 2010 stabbing death of 19-year-old Kelvin Willis.

Jekwan Smith is expected for a status hearing with Judge Dixon. Smith is suspected of first-degree murder in the Sept. 24, 2011 shooting death of Isaiah Sheffield.

James Brown is expected for a felony status conference with Judge Robert Morin. Brown is suspected for first-degree murder while armed in connection with the Dec. 29, 2012 shooting death of 22-year-old Darnell Rivers.

Friday, Alexander Gomez-Enamorado is expected for sentencing with Judge Russell Canan. In August, jurors found Gomez-Enamorado guilty of murder in connection with Nov. 8, 2010 stabbing death of 54-year-old Miguel Ventura.

Erik Postell is expected for a preliminary hearing with Judge Leibovitz. Postell is the second suspect to be charged with first-degree murder while armed in connection with the death of Paul Danzo.

Judge Leibovitz is also expecting Rashad Slye for a trial readiness hearing. Slye is suspected of first-degree murder for the Oct. 22, 2011 shooting death of 40-year-old Domingo Ezirike.

Andrew Williams is expected for a trial readiness hearing with Judge Beck. Williams, who has been released from jail since June, is suspected in the May 14, 2011 shooting death of 30-year-old Junon Snead.
