Jeffrey Jarrell Garnett Found Shot in SE DC Early Sunday Morning

A shooting early Sunday morning in the 3500 block of Stanton Road, Southeast killed Jeffrey Jarrell Garnett, a 25-year-old Southeast DC man, MPD said Sunday evening.

Garnett was found dead by members from the Criminal Investigation Division who were canvassing the area in connection with another investigation, MPD said.

Homicide: 3500 Block of Stanton Road, SE

(Washington, DC)- The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 3500 block of Stanton Road, SE.

On Sunday, November 3, 2013, at approximately 6:37 am, members from the Criminal Investigation Division were canvassing the area of the 3500 Block of Stanton Road, SE on another investigation at which time they located an unconscious and unresponsive adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and did not find any signs consistent with life. The decedent remained on the scene and was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia, pending an autopsy.

The decedent is identified as 25-year-old Jeffrey Jarrell Garnett of Southeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
