Sixth Homicide Victim in DC Since Thursday Night: Andre McIntyre

A man found beaten shortly after midnight early Saturday morning has died; he is the sixth homicide victim in DC since Thursday night.

Police identified the man as 46-year-old Andre McIntyre of Northwest DC.

They said police received a call for an unconscious person in the 3700 block of D Street, Southeast at 12:20 a.m. McIntyre was found there suffering from head trauma. He was transported to a local hospital where he was declared dead.

Homicide in the 3700 block of D Street, Southeast

(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 3700 block of D Street, Southeast.

On Saturday, March 1, 2014, at approximately 12:20 am, members from the Sixth District responded to a call for the report of an unconscious person in the 3700 block of D Street, Southeast. Upon their arrival, members located an adult male suffering from apparent trauma to his head. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pending an autopsy.

The decedent has been identified as 46-year-old Andre McIntyre of Northwest, Washington, DC.

The cause of death was found to be blunt force trauma of the head and neck and the manner was ruled a homicide.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
