Corey Saxton Arrested in Shooting Death of Roshaine Henry

A 20-year-old Northwest D.C. man was arrested Monday in connection with the shooting death of Roshaine Henry last Wednesday.

The man, identified by police as Corey Saxton, is suspected of second-degree murder while armed.

On March 5, Henry was found inside a crashed car suffering from a gunshot wound in the 900 block of Madison Street, Northwest. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

MPD later determined that the homicide happened blocks away, in the 1200 block of Madison Street, Northwest.

Arrest in Homicide: 1200 Block of Madison Street, Northwest

(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest in the homicide which occurred in the 1200 block of Madison Street, Northwest.

On Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at approximately 7:51 pm, police officers from the Fourth Patrol District responded to a call for the report of a vehicular accident in the 900 block of Madison Street, Northwest. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside the vehicle in the 900 block of Madison Street, Northwest. After a comprehensive investigation, it was established that the offense occurred in the 1200 block of Madison Street, Northwest. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The decedent was subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed to ascertain cause and manner of death.

The decedent has been identified as 24 year-old Roshaine Henry of an unknown address.

On March 10, 2014, at approximately 6:15 am, 20 year-old Corey Saxton of NW, Washington, DC was arrested by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with Second Degree Murder While Armed in connection with the homicide of Roshaine Henry.
