Shooting Victim IDed as Andre Pierce Joyner

A man fatally shot in Northeast DC on Friday afternoon has been identified as Andre Pierce Joyner of Fort Washington, Maryland.

Joyner, 29, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 600 block of Morris Place Northeast, near Ludlow-Taylor Elementary School. He died at a local hospital.

Homicide: 600 Block of Morris Place, Northeast

(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 600 block of Morris Place, Northeast.

On Friday April 25, 2014, at approximately 3:35 pm, police officers from the First District responded to a call for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The decedent has been identified as 29-year-old Andre Pierce Joyner of Fort Washington, MD.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
