Jonathan Fullard Indicted on Murder Charge in Death of Girlfriend’s Toddler

A man suspected of killing his girlfriend’s 20-month-old son has been indicted on a charge of felony murder.

Jonathan Fullard, 28, is charged with felony murder, first-degree cruelty to children and obstruction of justice, the US Attorney’s Office said Friday.

A Southwest DC man has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder while armed in connection with the Monday stabbing death of James Eric Cain.

MPD identified the suspect as 36-year-old Antoine Little.

Decreases in Gun, Domestic Violence, at Forefront of 6-month Homicide Decline

DC has recorded a 19 percent drop in homicides in the first half of 2012, compared to the first half of 2011, according to data collected and analyzed by Homicide Watch DC.

The homicide data also shows a significant decrease in gun violence and domestic violence, compared to last year. Meanwhile, a greater proportion of homicides have resulted from fatal stabbings.

Reynaud Cook Charged in Shooting of Yolanda Stone

A man wanted by DC police on suspicion of fatally shooting his girlfriend has been indicted by a grand jury.

The suspect, Reynaud Cook, remains at large, the US Attorney’s Office said Thursday evening. Cook has previously been identified as Reynard Cook.

Cook is charged with shooting Yolanda Stone on Feb. 15. She died on May 20.

Grand Jury Indicts Eric Payne on First-Degree Murder in Stabbing Death of Charles Hicks

Eric Payne is expected to be arraigned on a charge of first degree murder while armed on Monday in connection with the stabbing death of 53-year-old Charles Hicks at a gathering in Southeast DC last June.

Payne, 30, was arrested Wednesday.

According to court records, a warrant for his arrest was issued after police identified him as the man witnesses told police participated in the fatal fight. Those witnesses said the man’s name was “E” or “Eric.” Payne told police that some people refer to him as “E.”

Grant Johnson Ordered Held in Murder of Ricardo Lancaster

Grant Johnson was ordered held pending a preliminary hearing on charges of first-degree murder while armed for the May shooting death of Ricardo Lancaster.

Johnson was arrested on Wednesday after phone records indicated that he was near Lancaster when Lancaster was killed. Johnson and the victim had also exchanged multiple phone calls the night of the murder, pinging off the same cellphone tower, according to charging documents.

A 37-year-old Bladensburg, Md. man has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with the May shooting death of Ricardo Mandrell Lancaster.

MPD said Thursday that Grant Johnson had been arrested Wednesday in connection with the case.

Eric Jerome Payne Arrested in Connection with Stabbing Death of Charles Hicks

A second man has been arrested in connection with the June 2011 stabbing death of Southeast DC man Charles Hicks.

MPD said Thursday that 30-year-old Eric Jerome Payne of Capitol Heights, Md, was arrested Wednesday. He’s suspected of second-degree murder while armed in connection with Hick’s death.

Antonio Jones Found Incompetent to Stand Trial

Antonio Jones was sent to Saint Elizabeths yesterday for further mental examination, after the Department of Mental Health found him incompetent to continue with his court proceedings at this time.

Jones is suspected in the Oct. 2011 death of Davon Paul Gray.

Judge Thomas Motley ordered additional mental health exams; Jones is due back in court Aug. 28.
