Murder Charge in NE DC Domestic Stabbing will be Dismissed
Jewell Washington will not be prosecuted for the murder of her half-brother, Mark Goldring, in Northeast DC.
Washington was arrested on Oct. 11, 2011, the same day Goldring was fatally stabbed in his father’s home. At a preliminary hearing in December, Judge Gerald Fisher found “substantial probability” that Washington committed the crime.

Detective: Dying Man Called 911 for Help After Kenilworth Avenue Stabbing
At a preliminary hearing today Judge Thomas Motley found probable cause that David Bolden, 33, stabbed 34-year-old Lamont Antonio Devore early in the morning of May 1 on Kenilworth Avenue Northeast.
Metropolitan Police Department Detective, Keith Batton, testified at the hearing. He said Devore called 911 and reported the attack.
“He said he’d been stabbed and that he was dying,” Batton said.
Devore was found in the 1600 block of Kenilworth Avenue NE suffering from seven stab wounds, three of which were through the heart, said Batton.

20 Year Sentence in Gas Station Shooting that Killed Man, Injured Teenage Girl
It was a moment of anger, Stephen Barnes said, that led him to fire a gun into a car parked at a gas station, killing 24-year-old Stephon Emmanuel Way and seriously wounding a 16-year-old girl.
On Wednesday he was sentenced for that crime; 20 years on a charge of second-degree murder.
“I wish that you forgive me,” the 23-year-old, whose son was born just yesterday, told the families of the victims in court today. “I live with that for the rest of my life.”

Vigil, Funeral Services Planned for Yolanda Stone
Fox5 reports that a candlelight vigil will be held Saturday night at Spingarn High School in memory of Yolanda Stone. A funeral is planned for Monday morning at the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Southeast D.C., Fox5 reports.

A man killed in a shooting in Barry Farm early Tuesday morning has been identified as 27-year-old Levern Butler.

MPD will hold a press conference this afternoon to discuss the Yolanda Stone murder case, a press release from the agency this afternoon states.
Stone, 30, died Sunday after being shot in February. Police are searching for her ex-boyfriend, Reynard Cook, who is a suspect in the case.
