Metro Bus Shooting Victim Identified as Demetrius Emmanuel Thompson

A man killed in an early morning shooting on a Metro bus in Southeast DC has been identified as Demetrius Emmanuel Thompson, a 22-year-old from Southeast DC, MPD said.

Homicide: 2100 Block of Alabama Avenue, SE

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 2100 block of Alabama Avenue, SE.

On Thursday, October 20, 2011, at approximately 12:08 am, units from the Seventh District responded to the 2100 block of Alabama Avenue, SE, for the report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they located the victim lying in the street of that location. DC Fire and Emergency Personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where he succumbed to injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 22 year-old Demetrius Emmanuel Thompson of Southeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted from any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

If the information provided by the caller to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
