Henry Charles Miller Killed, Suspect in Custody in Chicago Street SE Shooting

An overnight shooting in the 1100 block of Chicago Street Southeast killed 32-year-old Henry Charles Miller, of Southeast DC, MPD reports. Police have arrested a suspect in the incident.

David Allen Shepherd, 48, was taken into custody in the 1400 block of Brentwood Parkway NE. MPD’s statement is below the jump.

Arrest Made in Homicide in the 1100 Block of Chicago Street, SE

(Washington, DC)- Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in the homicide in the 1100 block of Chicago Street, SE.

On Sunday, June 3, 2012, at approximately 1:05 am, foot beat officers on patrol in the area of the 1100 block of Chicago Street, SE responded to the report of a shooting at that location. Upon arrival on the scene, they found an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Henry Charles Miller of Southeast, DC.

A look out for a suspect and a vehicle was broadcast. Officers spotted the suspect who was pursued and apprehended in the 1400 block of Brentwood Parkway, NE.

The suspect has been identified as 48-year-old David Allen Shepherd of Northeast, DC. He has been charged with Murder One while Armed in the homicide of Henry Charles Miller.
