A 20-year-old D.C. man whose father had been slain in the city years ago was himself found fatally shot early Sunday in Northwest Washington.
UPDATED WITH MEMORIAL MESSAGES AFTER THE JUMP
A 20-year-old Northwest DC man was killed early Sunday morning in a shooting.
MPD identified him as Kevin Andre Washington. Friends called him “JR.” He was shot in the 100 block of Irving Street NW, near Washington Hospital Center.
Washington’s death is the sixth confirmed homicide in DC since Wednesday night.

UPDATED: MPD has identified a man who died after being shot Friday night as 45-year-old William Parker of Capitol Heights, Md. The press release is below.
Parker was shot in Southeast D.C. Friday night, the fifth confirmed homicide victim in three days in the District.
The Washington Post reported this morning that the man was found at about 8 p.m. in a car in the 2700 block of Stanton Road SE. A DCFireEMS tweet confirms that authorities were on the scene of a shooting.

Judge Thomas Motley this afternoon ordered 17-year-old Donald Crosland held in the death of Ricardo Minger after finding substantial probability that the teen was “the second shooter” in the case.
Crosland is suspected of second-degree murder while armed in Minger’s Jan. 7 death inside a Southeast D.C. apartment. Kevin Clark, Crosland’s codefendant, is also being held and is suspected of premeditated first-degree murder while armed.
