Monday, Kwan Kearney is due in court for a status hearing in front of Judge Thomas Motley. Kearney is suspected of felony murder while armed in the deaths of Joseph Alonzo Sharps Jr. and Jamal Demetrius Wilson. Sharps died Nov. 8, 2010, after being shot on Holbrook Street, NE. Wilson was killed less than a week later, on Nov. 14, by a gunshot wound through the heart. Kearney’s trial in the Sharps case was slated to begin Monday but was postponed until Nov. 14 after his brother, Eric Kearney — a key witness in the defense’s case — was shot and killed Oct. 17.

On Tuesday, Antonio Jones is expected for a preliminary hearing at 9:25 a.m. with Judge Motley. Jones is suspected of second-degree murder while armed in the shooting death of Davon Gray on Oct. 15.

Marc Tapp is expected for a felony status conference with Judge Leibovitz. Tapp, who has posted rap videos on YouTube under the pseudonym “Goo,” is suspected of first-degree murder while armed in the death of Jermaine Anderson on May 8 during a shootout at the Ivy City Day celebration.

On Wednesday, Anthony Thomas is due in court for a felony status conference at 9 a.m. with Judge Motley. Thomas is accused of felony murder while armed in the shooting death of Solomon Reese, 71, on June 27.

James Brewer is expected for a felony status conference with Judge Motley at 9 a.m. Brewer is a co-defendant in the Solomon Reese murder, and has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the case. During his presentment in July, Brewer briefly escaped the courthouse after exchanging identification bracelets with another prisoner. Co-defendants Stephen Page and Bradley Allen are also expected for the hearing.

On Thursday, Brian Gaither and Johnnie Sweets are expected for a felony status conference with Judge William M. Jackson. The victim, Latisha Frasier, 18, was killed in August 2010 after she was accused of stealing money from a neighborhood friend. Investigators say she was attacked by a group of people, who beat, stomped, bound, gagged, prodded and choked her.

Jewell Washington is expected for preliminary hearing in front of Judge Gerald Fisher. Washington pleaded innocent earlier this month to a felony murder charge in the stabbing death of Mark Goldring on Oct. 11. Washington and Goldring were “step or half siblings,” and Washington’s attorney argued that she was acting in self-defense following a domestic dispute.

Sergio Waynes is expected for a felony status conference with Judge Heidi Pasichow. Waynes is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon in connection with the double homicide of D’Angelo Thompson and Rashid Paul, who were shot in a car on New Hampshire Avenue Northeast in January.

On Friday, Cinthya Proctor is expected to be sentenced in connection with the murder of Latisha Frazier last August. Proctor accepted a plea deal after pleading guilty to second-degree murder, kidnapping and conspiracy to tamper with evidence. She could face a sentence of life in prison. Judge Jackson will preside.

Donald McCorkle is expected for a preliminary hearing at 9:25 a.m. with Judge Leibovitz. McCorkle is suspected of second-degree murder while armed in the shooting death of Bruce Parker on March 28. McCorkle’s attorney says his client acted in self-defense.

Marvin Palencia is expected for a felony status conference with Judge Jackson. Palencia is accused of first-degree murder while armed in the shooting death of Jacobo Vazquez on Nov. 11. Prosecutors say Palencia killed Vazquez, his former coworker, because he suspected Vazquez was romantically linked to his estranged wife. Attorneys in the case failed to work out a plea deal in August.

Phillip Charles Swan and Terrell Wilson are expected for a felony status conference at 2 p.m. with Judge Motley. They are suspected of first-degree murder while armed in the stabbing death of Glenn Scarborough on June 19.

Ronald Page is expected for a status hearing with Judge Fisher. Page pleaded innocent to a charge of second-degree murder while armed in the Jan. 5 shooting death of his stepson, Nicholas Satcher, at the family’s Northeast DC home.
