In brief:

MPD announced that Emanuel Campbell, a 53-year-old man attacked in Northeast DC in January, died of his injuries this week and police are now investigating the case as a homicide.

James Brown was ordered held Friday in connection with the fatal shooting of Darnell Rivers Dec. 29, 2012.

A jury found John David Bolton guilty of second-degree murder in the 2011 shooting death of Christopher Fletcher at a neighborhood cookout. Prosecutors had sought first-degree murder charges against Bolton.

Brian Gaither‘s attorney filed a motion seeking to withdraw Gaither’s Nov. 2012 guilty plea in the murder of Latisha Frazier.

Authorities ruled a 2011 death a homicide after Jonathan Alonzo Woods died Wednesday from a gunshot wound he sustained nearly two years ago. Woods’ death was the fifth homicide of 2013.

Judge Ronna Beck declared a mistrial Thursday in Felicia Jones‘ case after jurors could not reach a verdict. Jones faced second-degree murder charges in connection with Jodie Ward‘s death.

Police arrested Alexander Buckley under suspicion of killing 18-year-old Siohban Lee. Buckley and Lee reportedly met through an online dating phone application known as Tagged.

Prosecutors began the third trial against Raymond Roseboro in connection with the 2010 shooting death of 16-year-old Prince Okorie. Two previous juries have deadlocked when they heard the government’s case.
