Now, maybe Andre’s family will get closure. He didn’t deserve to die like that. From his grave, he cries out for justice.
The suspects, 23 year-old Byron Akeem Dunn and 22-year-old Marquette Tibbs, are scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Judge Ronna Beck at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Judge Ronna Beck found substantial probability in the murder case against Dwayne Hilton Friday in a hearing that hinged on identifying him from surveillance video.
Prosecutors say Hilton was one of two men who shot 18-year-old Mico Briscoe , killing him outside a Circle 7 Express store at the 1200 block of Mt. Olivet Road Northeast in Nov. 2011. The shooting also injured four other men.
It wasn’t eyewitnesses, though, but neighborhood police officers that provided the key identification of Hilton in charging documents.

Judge Russell Canan found probable cause Friday that Demonta Chappell was responsible for the October 2012 shooting death of 26-year-old Stevann Moorer. Canan also ordered him held while a grand jury investigates the case.
“Inconsistencies aside, there’s reason to believe that the defendant committed these crimes,” Canan told the court.

A witness in the murder trial against Terry Johnson testified Thursday that police forced her to implicate Johnson for the murder of 19-year-old Andre Jamal Wiggins.
“They said that if I didn’t tell them what they wanted to hear, they wouldn’t allow me to see my child,” the witness testified. “I was scared for my child.”

Four Prince George’s County teens charged with murder in the Woodley Park Metro stop stabbing death of Olijawon Griffin pleaded innocent to the charges against them Thursday at D.C. Superior Court.
Prosecutors have already charged 17-year-old Chavez Myers with Griffin’s death, saying that he wielded the weapon that killed Griffin.

Eric Jerome Payne appeared before Judge Robert Morin Thursday and rejected an informal plea offer from prosecutors for his role in the June 2011 stabbing death of Charles Hicks.
Payne is charged with first-degree murder in connection with Hicks’ death.
Co-defendant Terrance McNeal pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter in his case in November.

Judge Lori Parker on Wednesday ordered two men held in connection with the Nov. 2012 shooting death of Andre Jackson.
Jackson, 22, died from multiple gunshot wounds. His body was found behind an apartment building in the 300 block of Ridge Road Southeast.
Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force officers arrested Marquette Tibbs, 22, and 23-year-old Byron Dunn separately Tuesday.
