MPD today released a video of a “person of interest” in the stabbing death of baby Kuron Rashad Hunt, who was delivered after his mother was stabbed in the abdomen.
The person, a black male, is seen in the video walking through a parking lot and then down onto a sidewalk. He is wearing what appears to be light-colored jeans and a blue jacket.

Zachary Sims was found innocent today of the most serious charges against him, after a DC jury found that there was not sufficient evidence to believe that Sims killed 16-year-old Jamal Bell following a graduation party in June 2010.
The verdict was returned Monday, the fourth day of jury deliberations.
Sims, 19, had been charged with killing Bell and wounding two others when he fired a gun into a crowd of young people in front of him as they left a party on Georgia Avenue.

Tyrell Fogle was chased through Langston Terrace, a masked gunman in pursuit firing at him. Isaiah Sheffield was fired upon when he rode his bike down 21st Street Northeast. Steven Moore was simply found shot, early in the evening of Dec. 3, in the 1100 block of 21st Street Northeast.
Three deaths in five months in one DC neighborhood.
This month a DC grand jury charged five men with those crimes, saying that the murders were part of a neighborhood feud that pitted one group, “21st and Vietnam,” against another, “E Street.”

Jurors found five young men guilty in the South Capitol Street shootings more than two years after the killings and nearly two weeks of jury deliberations. The crime: Five people under the age of 21 were shot and killed over eight days in March 2010: Jordan Howe, 20; Brishell Jones, 16; DaVaughn Boyd, 18; William Jones III, 19; Tavon Nelson, 17. Orlando Carter, 22, and Jeffrey Best, 23, were convicted on five counts of first-degree murder, as well as charges of assault, conspiracy, gun possession and destruction of property. Robert Bost, 23, was convicted of four counts of first-degree murder, while Sanquan Carter, 21, was convicted of one count. Lamar Williams, 23, was found guilty of multiple counts of second-degree murder, as well as gun possession and conspiracy charges.Sentencing is scheduled for September.
David Bolden was ordered held on a charge of first-degree murder while armed in the stabbing death of Lamont Devore.
Jury deliberations began in the case against Zachary Sims, accused of fatally shooting 16-year-old Jamal Bell at a Go-Go themed graduation party in Northwest DC in June 2010.
Michael Davis, the brother of football stars Vernon and Vontae Davis, was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of 66-year-old Denver man Gary Dederichs. Judge Robert Morin, however, found the 19-year-old mentally incompetent to stand trial at this time. Davis is also suspected in four other similar but non-fatal attacks that took place in the hours after Dederichs was killed. At a preliminary hearing in the case, Morin said it was likely that all five of the attacks can be tied to Davis.
Stanley Moghalu, 25, Kevin Charles, 21, Johnnie Harris, 20, were arrested in connection with the December 2011 shooting death of Steven Curtis Moore.
Brian Gaither and Johnnie Sweets rejected plea offers from the government that would cap their potential sentences at 38 years for the murder of 18-year-old Latisha Frazier.
A man fatally shot in Barry Farm early Saturday morning has been identified as 34-year-old Michael Oshea Smith.
A press release from MPD states that Smith was one of two people officers found injured in the 1200 block of Stevens Road Southeast Saturday morning; Smith was declared dead at the scene and the second person was taken to a hospital.

WJLA reports that a man was killed in a shooting in Barry Farm early Saturday morning.

At this time, investigators don’t know if he was shot in the street or inside a home.
The investigation into the man’s death is ongoing.
A lookout was issued for a blue Mercury with Maryland tags.
The Washington Post reports that the victim was found inside a vehicle on Stevens Road SE:
Officer Hugh Carew, a department spokesman, said two adult male gunshot victims were found by police at 5:38 a.m. in the 1200 block of Stevens Road SE. One lay dead inside the vehicle.
The other lay in the street with non-life-threatening injuries, Carew said.
Officers were on the lookout for a blue Mercury with Maryland tags, Carew said. No other details were immediately available.
A DC Superior Court Judge found substantial probability today that five attacks over the course of three days in Petworth last month were linked to the same person and that that person was 19-year-old Michael Davis, brother of NFL stars Vernon and Vontae Davis.
That ruling was made today at Davis’s preliminary hearing on two assault charges and one murder charge. The hearing was held even though Judge Robert Morin found Davis mentally incompetent to stand trial earlier this morning. Earlier reports have indicated that Davis may suffer from schizophrenia and have a history of PCP use.
Davis sat unmoving through the approximately three hours of the preliminary hearing; his eyes partially closed and his mouth slightly open.

Michael Davis, the 19-year-old Petworth brother of NFL stars Vernon and Vontae Davis, has been found mentally unfit to participate in the murder proceedings against him.
That determination was made by the Department of Mental Health and announced at a hearing Friday at DC Superior Court.
