A double shooting in Northeast DC early Saturday morning left one man dead, WJLA reports.

A message from fifth district commander Andy Solberg this afternoon stated that the victim was 18 years old.

Ray Dicks Ordered Held in Eric Kearney’s Death, Despite Arguments Against Witness ID and Alibi

Relying on an eyewitness identification that Ray Dicks’ defense attorney characterized as problematic, Judge William Jackson found substantial probability today in the case accusing Dicks of fatally shooting Eric Kearney over a jailhouse rumor.

It appears that this witness had a fairly good opportunity to observe [the shooting],” Jackson said in his finding.

Jewell Washington’s Preliminary Hearing Scheduled for Next Month

A preliminary hearing for Jewell Washington was scheduled yesterday for Dec. 5.

The hearing yesterday was to determine who was representing Washington against the second-degree murder charge she is facing in connection with the stabbing death of Mark Goldring. The court determined that Wendell Robinson, a private attorney, is her counsel.

In Brief:

Silvestre Antonio Perez-Agustine, also known as Tony Perez, died early Monday morning after being shot in the face in Northeast DC. He was 21-years-old.

Antonio Eugene Williams was assaulted in Northeast DC on Oct. 27 at about 6:35 p.m., the poster states. He died on Nov. 8 of injuries associated with the assault. MPD released information about the case this week.

A double shooting Monday night in Northeast D.C. killed 27-year-old Ronald Deacon Smith.

Albrecht Muth continued his correspondence with DC Superior Court, submitting this letter in response to the government. At a hearing Friday, Muth gained the court’s permission to represent himself at trial. His wife, Viola Drath‘s, death, he said at the hearing, was an Iranian hit.

Ray Allen Dicks was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with Eric Kearney‘s shooting death. The fatal shooting was retribution for a jailhouse rumor that Kearney was spreading the word about someone informing in his brother’s murder case.

Delron Atchison and Vincent Gray were ordered held today after Judge Thomas Motley found substantial probability that they were involved in the fatal shooting of Demetrius Thompson on board a Metro bus in Southeast DC last month. Both men are suspected of second-degree murder in connection with the case.

DC’s Chief Medical Examiner has concluded that Jodi Ward was killed in a homicide and Felicia Jones, the woman police believe attacked him, is now being charged with murder. She had previously been suspected of assault in the case.

Derek Johnson pleaded guilty in the stabbing death of Jamar Freeman. Freeman, 17, was killed on Oct. 8 at the at the Raymond Recreation Center/Park. Johnson, also 17, was a former classmate of Freeman’s. Under the terms of the plea agreement for second-degree murder while armed, he could be sentenced to 12 to 15 years in prison.

Irving Johnson was ordered held on substantial probability in connection with a triple shooting in Columbia Heights that left two men dead this summer.

Irving Johnson Ordered Held in Deadly Columbia Heights Triple Shooting

Irving Johnson was ordered held today on substantial probability in connection with a triple shooting in Columbia Heights that left two men dead this summer.

In court for his preliminary hearing, Johnson was ordered held while awaiting trial, even though his attorney had argued that there wasn’t enough evidence on the record to move the case forward.

Guilty” Plea from Teen Suspected in Petworth Stabbing Death of Jamar Freeman

Derek Johnson pleaded guilty today in the stabbing death of Jamar Freeman.

Freeman, 17, was killed on Oct. 8 at the at the Raymond Recreation Center/Park. Johnson, also 17, was a former classmate of Freeman’s. Under the terms of the plea agreement for second-degree murder while armed, he could be sentenced to 12 to 15 years in prison.

Charging documents state that a “lifelong friend” of Freeman’s told detectives that Freeman and others were at the Raymond Recreation Center/Park when someone rode up to Freeman on a bicycle and grabbed Freeman. The two threw each other around “as if they were wrestling,” the friend told detectives. That person also said that Freeman and Johnson were classmates at one time and that Johnson had “picked on” Freeman.

Murder Charge for Felicia Jones in Death of Jodi Ward

DC’s Chief Medical Examiner has concluded that Jodi Ward was killed in a homicide and the woman police believe attacked him is now being charged with murder.
