Sunday Night NE Stabbing Leaves One Man Dead, Woman Suspected


Fox5 and WUSA report that a man was stabbed to death Sunday evening in an apartment in the 1900 block of I St. NE. A woman is a suspect in the case but not in custody, Fox5 reported.

MPD Commander Andy Solberg said the victim was 31 years old.

A shooting late Saturday night in Southeast DC killed 21 year-old Davon Paul Gray, MPD reports.

Only Two Defendants Remain in Latisha Frazier Murder Case

Of the six people arrested on suspicion of killing D.C. teenager Latisha Frazier, the US Attorney’s Office has only two open cases against those suspects remaining.

That news follows on the heels of a guilty plea made by one of those co-defendants Friday.

In a three week period last winter, Brian Gaither, Johnnie Sweet, Aneka Nelson, Cinthya Proctor, Laurence Hassan, and Lanee Bell were arrested in connection with Frazier’s disappearance.

Only two defendants, Gaither and Sweet, remain, a source told Homicide Watch Saturday.

Karl Pugh Held on Second Degree Murder in Death of Quentin Ragland

Judge Thomas Motley found probable cause for a charge of second-degree murder in a preliminary hearing today for Karl Pugh, who is being held for the Sept. 20 shooting death of Quentin Ragland in Southeast DC.

Pugh’s defense attorney, Liyah Brown, argued that Pugh was acting in “complete self-defense” at the time of the shooting. Brown said Pugh’s statements to police indicate that he and Ragland had struggled for control of the gun, and that it could have fired accidentally.

Brandon Andrews Held in Death of Leonard Bigelow

Brandon Andrews was ordered held today after Judge William Jackson found probable cause for the second-degree murder charge in the case.

Andrews, 29, is suspected in the shooting death of Leonard Bigelow. Bigelow was killed outside his Northeast DC home in August.

Man Charged with Lying to Grand Jury Added as Co-Defendant in Angelo Jones Murder Case

A D.C. man accused of lying to the Grand Jury in a murder investigation has now been charged with first-degree murder as a co-defendant in the case.

Curtis Patterson, 23, was indicted last Friday on seven charges in connection with the shooting death of Angelo Jones in October 2010. Patterson appeared in court today with his codefendant, Rickey Pharr, who was arraigned on a superseding indictment in the case.
