Dixon was killed in a double shooting Sunday in Northwest D.C. A memorial Facebook page states that a candlelight vigil is planned for Friday evening.

Woman Found Fatally Stabbed in Downtown DC ID’ed as Barbara Lloyd

A woman found stabbed to death less than a mile from the White House on Aug. 8 has been identified as Barbara Lloyd, a 56-year-old Baltimore woman.

Lloyd was named by MPD as “Eman Mohammed,” even while she remained a “Jane Doe” while detectives sought out her next of kin.

Brandon Andrews Held in Fatal Friday Night Shooting

Brandon Andrews was ordered held today on suspicion of second-degree murder while armed in connection with the shooting death of Leonard Bigelow in Northeast DC Friday evening.

Neighbors said Andrews is Bigelow’s sister’s ex-boyfriend.

Woman Charged in Fatal Stabbing Had Court Order to Stay Away from Victim

The woman suspected of fatally stabbing Karen Jordan in a Northeast D.C. apartment on Saturday evening had been ordered by the court to stay away from her while awaiting trial for assaulting her.

Stephanie Lawson appeared in DC Superior Court Monday to be presented with a charge of second-degree murder in connection with Jordan’s death. Finding substantial probability, the court ordered Lawson held pending a preliminary hearing.

Shooting Victim ID’ed as 21-year-old Dominic Dixon

The victim of a fatal shooting in Northwest DC Sunday evening has been identified as 21-year-old Dominic Dixon.

MPD reports that officers were called to the 200 block of N Street NW for a report of a shooting. Dixon was found there shot. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, MPD said.

A second shooting victim was found near 4th and M Streets Northwest. That person was taken to the hospital for treatment, MPD said.

Sunday Evening Double Shooting Kills One Near Dunbar High


A double shooting near Dunbar High School left one man dead and injured another Sunday evening, the Washington Post and WJLA report.

I was at the basketball court on N street across from Dunbar yesterday evening. Not even five minutes after leaving and entering my house, I heard sirens, saw flashing lights and the helicopter above. From what the neighbors are saying, two young people were shot near the basketball court, with one not surviving.
