Despite the delay, key details of the government’s case were revealed in the lawyers’ discussion of evidence, including the government’s theory that Banks was killed over a dispute about a drug debt and that Vance and another suspect “acted in concert,” driving to pick up Banks, driving him to the 1100 block of Galloway Street NE, and killing him.

Here’s the family’s full statement (via Washington City Paper):

The death certificate confirms that Ali’s death was a homicide. The family wishes to commend those at the Medical Examiner’s office for their hard work and dedication in helping to uncover that Ali’s death was a homicide. The family is confident that law enforcement will continue its investigation into Ali¹s tragic death and that the Medical Examiner’s report is a step toward justice for Ali. The Medical Examiner¹s findings, however, also reminds us that Ali suffered a cruel and senseless death. Ali did not deserve to die for allegedly breaking a window. Raymond Roseboro Held for the Petworth Murder of Prince Okorie

D.C. Superior Court Judge Lynn Leibovitz found probable cause Tuesday in the case against 20-year-old Northwest D.C. man Raymond Roseboro, charged with second degree murder in the killing of 16-year-old Prince Okorie on Nov. 30.

Leibovitz declined to find substantial probability in the case against Roseboro as the government requested. In her ruling she said the “totality” of evidence was enough to find probable cause but that witnesses had not provided enough information— and that the government had not allowed specific enough questions to be asked— to rule that there was anything more than probable cause to believe that Roseboro could be tried in the case.
