In brief:

Donald Isiah Jones, 32, was killed in a double shooting in in the 2500 block of 14th Street Northeast last Saturday evening

Derrick Marvin Baugham, 25, was found shot near the unit block of Galveston Place Southwest early last Sunday morning.

Robert Brown, 26, died after being shot by police in Southeast DC Monday afternoon. Brown is believed to have run from police who were in the 4900 block of G Street, Southeast investigating the shooting death of Rokeida Spriggs.

Charles Wennen Young, 22, was arrested in connection with Spriggs’ death.

Lamonte Perry, 22, was arrested in connection with the November 2012 shooting death of Andre Jackson.

Prosecutors opened their case charging Deonte Bryant and Terrance Bush with the June 25, 2011 Caribbean Festival shooting death of 43-year-old Robert Foster Jr. Monday with eyewitness testimony from those near the festival when the deadly shots were fired.

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman whose body was pulled from the Potomac River on November 1. The case hasn’t been ruled a homicide, and MPD has not released a cause of death.

Charles Young Arrested in SE Shooting Death of Rokeida Spriggs

A Maryland man has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder while armed in connection with the shooting death of Rokeida Spriggs on G Street Southeast, last week.

The suspect, identified by police as 22-year-old Charles Wennen Young, was arrested Thursday.

Spriggs was found shot November 22 in the 4900 block of G Street Southeast, at about 1:00 a.m. She was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

Man Shot by Police in SE DC Dies of Injuries

A 26-year-old Southeast DC man has died after being shot by police Monday afternoon.

The man, identified by police as Robert Brown, had run from police who were in the 4900 block of G Street, Southeast investigating a case. The Washington Post reports that that investigation was into the weekend shooting death of Rokeida Spriggs.

A press release from MPD states that after running from police, Brown was involved in a “physical altercation” with police and he produced a handgun.

Lamonte Perry Arrested in Connection with Nov. 2012 Andre Jackson Shooting

A 22-year-old Southeast DC man has been arrested in connection with the November 2012 shooting death of Andre Jackson.

The suspect, identified by police as Lamonte Perry, is expected to be charged with felony murder while armed.

Perry is the third person to be arrested in connection with the case. In court last week, Marquette Tibbs pleaded innocent to charges including first-degree murder related to Jackson’s death. Another man was arrested and held for more than seven months before charges against him were dropped early last week.

Trial Begins in June 2011 Caribbean Festival Shooting Death of Robert Foster Jr.

Prosecutors opened their case charging Deonte Bryant and Terrance Bush with the June 25, 2011 Caribbean Festival shooting death of 43-year-old Robert Foster Jr. Monday with eyewitness testimony from those near the festival when the deadly shots were fired.

According to the government’s case, Bryant and Bush attended the festival armed with the intent to find and shoot rival crew member Terry Jimenez. Once they found him— or he found them— all three men engaged in a shootout.

Foster was caught in the crossfire.

Both sides brought their guns. Both sides, as the evidence will show, are responsible,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Kerkhoff said.

Police Seek Public’s Help IDing Woman Found in Potomac

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman whose body was pulled from the Potomac River on November 1.

The case hasn’t been ruled a homicide, and MPD has not released a cause of death.

The woman, who appears to be 65 to 75 years old, was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and black “easy stride” shoes, MPD said. She was found in the river near the Watergate complex.

Police ID Galveston Place Shooting Victim as Derrick Marvin Baugham

Police have identified Derrick Marvin Baugham, 25, as the victim of a fatal shooting on Galveston Place Southwest early Sunday morning.

Baugham, a Southwest D.C. resident, was found with an apparent gunshot wound at 3:08 a.m. Sunday. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was transported to the District’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Fatal Shooting on Galveston Place SW

Police found a man unconscious with an apparent gunshot wound around 3 a.m. Sunday morning near the unit block of Galveston Place Southwest, MPD reports.

The man, whose name police are not releasing until a next-of-kin can be notified, died at the scene.

Double Shooting in NE DC Injuries One Man, Kills Another ID’ed as Donald Isiah Jones

A double shooting in Northeast DC Saturday evening injured one man and killed another.

In a press release, MPD said the two men were found in the 2500 block of 14th Street, Northeast. One of the men, Donald Isiah Jones, 32, was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital. The other man was admitted to the hospital in stable condition.
