Judge: Ronald Page “You Blamed Everyone Except Yourself,” Gets 20 Years for Stepson’s Murder

Judge Russell Canan sentenced Ronald Page to 20 years in prison Friday for the shooting death of his stepson, 22-year-old Nicholas Ray Satcher.

Page addressed the court Friday for over half an hour often breaking down into tears while talking about his life, his dreams, and his family.

But when it came to his stepson’s shooting, Page seemed to place blame on his family, and claimed he was being attacked by Satcher and that he shot him in self-defense.

I did not kill Nicholas,” Page said. “The situation was brought on by Nicholas, and his actions killed him.”

Partial Verdict in “21st and Vietnam” Murder Case Rejected

After three weeks of deliberating, jurors in the “21st and Vietnam” murder trial announced partial verdicts Wednesday morning on two of the four defendants, but the judge assigned to the case refused to accept their ruling when jurors on one of the verdicts did not appear to be unanimous and the other verdict was read in a confusing manner.

The verdicts related to Johnnie Harris and Jekwan Smith. It is not clear what the intended verdicts— or charges they corresponded to— were.

Harris and Smith, along with Anthony Hatton and Stanley Moghalu, are alleged to be members of a crew called “21st and Vietnam,” and are charged with the deaths of Tyrell Fogle, Isaiah Sheffield and Steven Moore.

justicefortony” and “JusticeforTyrell” left these Comments of the Day, one in support of Anthony Hatton, a co-defendant in the “21st and Vietnam” murder trial, and one in support of Hatton’s alleged victim 17-year-old Tyrell Fogle.

It’s a shame how the court system allows jury’s to go out and do drugs and think that they have not talked about the case to anyone, it just shows how the government plays with the tax payers dollars prolonging a case that should have been a mistrial last week for Hatton, this just shows you how they choose a jury of his peers, but choose a crack head to judge anybody WHAT A SYSTEMFREE MR.HATTON.

JusticeforTyrell” responded, and wrote:

There is enough evidence against him. He is guilty as charge police saw and caught him trying to excape thru a hole in the fence. The police was on his ass the whole time after he shot Tyrell, got the gun that he drop when he came from behind the bushes. Things happen and when his family wakes up and realize noone put a gun in his hands, no one told him to try and be a hero when he was beefing with Tyrell and friends long before he decide to pull that trigger. Justice will be serve for Tyrell and Mr. Hatton is not the only one on trial in this case.

A shootout at a Southeast DC apartment complex that killed community activist Timothy Delonte Dawkins may have had another target. At a preliminary hearing, MPD Detective Michael Murphy testified that video captured by a surveillance camera at the apartment complex showed two men exchanging gunfire and Dawkins falling to the ground. “They seemed to be shooting at each other,” Murphy said. “I don’t know if the decedent was the intended target.”

A jury that has been deliberating for more than two weeks in a DC murder case was excused Thursday morning after the judge in the case decided to remove one juror from the group. It is the third time a juror has been dismissed from service in the case, which began June 25.

Joshua Mebane, one of two teens suspected in the shooting death of a D.C. taxi driver, was arraigned Friday on two counts of murder in connection with the shooting death of 44-year-old Quadar Muhammad. Mebane pleaded innocent to all charges and remains held pending a status hearing October 31.
