God Bless You Olu. You will be missed. This man had never showed aggression towards anyone. He was baptized in 2011 and an active member in the church community. Olu, please look over your family and the Pavilion of God Church who love you dearly from Heaven.

Williams, a Catholic University graduate student, died on March 14 after being shot in the chest.

Substantial Probability” Found in Fire Death of Four-Year-Old Samauri Jenkins

Judge John Ramsey Johnson found substantial probability Friday that Jerome Lewis intentionally set a fire that killed 4-year-old Samauri Jenkins last month.

Lewis will remain held while a grand jury investigates the case.

Lewis’ defense attorney, Anthony Matthews, argued at the hearing Friday, that the government could not conclusively show that Lewis set the fire on purpose.

Alexis Pineda Sentenced to 18 Years in Fatal Shooting of Jose Hernandez-Romero Inside Family’s Restaurant

Alexis Pineda was sentenced Friday to 18 years in prison for the shooting death of Jose Hernandez-Romero at a downtown DC restaurant Pineda’s family owned.

Pineda said he doesn’t remember the shooting or understand why he killed Hernandez-Romero, whom he had never met before. He has said he was drunk when he fired the shots at 2:25 a.m. March 27, 2011.

MPD has confirmed this afternoon that a man shot late Thursday night in Northeast DC was 31-year-old Akinwole Olu Williams.

NE DC Shooting Victim Catholic University Grad Student

A man was killed in Northeast DC late Thursday night; NBC Washington reports he was a 31-year-old graduate student at Catholic University.

According to multiple reports, the man was found in the 1000 block of 44th Street NE at about 11:40 p.m. He had been shot in the chest.

Judge Finds Substantial Probability in Case Against Cedric Spicer

Judge Herbert Dixon found substantial probability Thursday that Cedric Spicer shot and killed Joseph Hardin last month outside a nightclub in Northwest D.C. Spicer remains held while a grand jury investigates the case.

“Based on the devastating combination of direct and circumstantial evidence, there’s not only probable cause, but substantial probability that Mr. Spicer committed these offenses,” Dixon told the court in his finding.

Judge Plans Video Link for Fasting Albrecht Muth at Upcoming Trial

Judge Russell Canan told Albrecht Muth Thursday he would have to appear by video link at his trial by video link, even though the move would be “uncharted territory” for the court system.

The trial is slated to begin in just 10 days. Canan turned down a request by Assistant U.S. Attorney Glenn Kirschner to postpone the trial to provide more time to make arrangements to deal with Muth’s health issues.

Muth has maintained he is fasting for religious reasons, and his attorney, Dana Page, has said it isn’t too dangerous to bring Muth to court on a stretcher.

Felicia Jones Pleads Guilty to Unarmed Voluntary Manslaughter in Death of Jodie Ward

Felicia Jones entered a guilty plea Thursday morning that will require prosecutors to drop the most serious charges against her in connection with the 2011 death of Jodie Lamont Ward.

A jury deadlocked in January in the second-degree murder case against Jones, 31, and she was scheduled to go to trial again March 25.

Grand Jury Indicts Greg Whittaker in Metro Stabbing Case

A grand jury indicted 19-year-old Greg Whittaker Wednesday on second-degree murder charges in connection with the 2012 stabbing death of Olijawon Griffin in the Woodley Park Metro station.

Whittaker is the seventh teen to face adult murder charges in the case. He’s scheduled for an arraignment Friday before Judge Ronna Beck.
