Brian Arcenio Gaither‘s attempt to withdraw his plea of “guilty” in connection with the murder of 18-year-old Latisha Frazier was denied Friday by Judge William Jackson, who said the court believed that Gaither, 25, was adequately represented when he made the plea.
Gaither was one of six young people suspected in the August 2010 beating death of Frazier. All but one, Johnnie Sweet, have pleaded guilty in connection with the case. According to a proffer of evidence from one suspect, the group believed Frazier had stolen $900 from Sweet.

Metropolitan Police have identified the man shot and killed outside Balletto nightclub as 24-year-old Paul Aime Tanoh Danzo of Laurel, Md.
Police responded to the 1000 block of 17th Street Northwest around 2:30 a.m. Thursday and found Danzo sitting in his vehicle and saw he had been shot several times.
Police say Danzo was admitted to the hospital in critical condition, but later died from his injuries. Read more
A man was fatally shot early Thursday morning outside a Northwest D.C. nightclub, reports The Washington Post.
The man, whose name has yet to be released, was found shot in the head near the intersection of 17th and L Streets Northwest around 3 a.m. The victim died on the scene.
