16-year-old Arrested, Charged as Adult, in Death of Miguel Drullard

A 16-year-old Maryland teen has been arrested and charged as an adult in the death of Miguel Angel Drullard Jr.

Drullard is believed to have been intentionally struck by a vehicle in Northwest DC Oct. 6. Christian Navarette-Rivas, of Riverdale, Md., is suspected of second-degree murder while armed in connection with the case, MPD said.

In a press release Thursday, MPD said Drullard was fatally shot. In a corrected version of the press release, MPD extracted this information.

A man killed in an early morning shooting on a Metro bus in Southeast DC has been identified as Demetrius Emmanuel Thompson, a 22-year-old from Southeast DC, MPD said.

Man Shot, Killed on W4 Metro Bus in SE DC Early Thursday

A man was reportedly shot and killed on a Metro bus just after midnight Thursday morning.

Reports WUSA:

Dan Stessel, spokesman for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, says a passenger on the W4 bus to Deanwood was shot several times by two suspects at a bus stop in the 2300 block of Alabama avenue shortly after midnight. Right now it is unclear if the man was shot before or after he exited the bus.

Derek Johnson Held in Fatal Petworth Stabbing of Jamar Freeman

Seventeen year old Derek Johnson appeared shackled before Judge Diana Epps today to be presented with a charge of second-degree murder in the death of a teen detectives say was a former classmate.

Jamar Freeman, also 17, died after being stabbed in the heart on Oct. 8.

Teen Arrested in Petworth Stabbing Death of Jamar Freeman

A 17-year-old from Northwest DC has been arrested in the shooting death of Jamar Freeman.

The teen, identified by police as Derek Johnson, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder while armed. He will be charged as an adult, MPD said.

Abduselam was “the quiet member of the family”

In 48 hours, from Saturday night to Monday night, five people were killed across the District: Davon Paul GrayJawan ParkerEric KearneyAntonio Headspeth and Mohammed Muktar Abduselam.

Looking back at those deaths, the Washington Post includes this short profile of Abdusalem, killed Monday night in what police say was a robbery attempt at the gas station where he worked:

Abduselam came to the United States from Ethi­o­pia in 2007, according to his cousin Amir Ousman, who lives in Virginia. Abduselam lived with an older brother in Northeast and had relatives throughout the region.

MPD released the following statement tonight on the shooting death of Mohammed Muktar Abduselam, who police believe was killed during a robbery at the gas station where he worked.

The statement also corrects the victim’s name. He had previously been identified as Mohamed Abdul-Selam Muktar.
